The first sloughed Adders of the year were seen today, two males lying with another individual which may have been a female. They were near the pond, on a pile of dried grass amongst vegetation, where I had seen one on 22nd March.
One more male was seen along the edge of the same field, then at RDE another male and a female.
However, I was probably most pleased to find a Common Lizard, a sub-adult, no doubt born last year. It was on a straw bale in the corner of the field nearest Motney Road.
In AP there were no less than 20 Slow-worms, including seven small juveniles. There was also several Adders though all evaded the camera.
