Arrived at the Malemi Hotel in the early afternoon after a flight from Stansted at 06:00.  Following a brief trip into Skala Kaloni for provisions I visited the Kalloni saltpans and Alykes wetland for a couple of hours.

It was windy so not the best conditions for looking for passerines. The channel alongside the saltpans had good numbers of Little Stint plus other waders such as Ruff. Whilst driving along the road a small flock of White-winged Black Terns flew over, and looked stunning. Approximately 15 Bee-eaters were later seen in the surrounding fields, also two Collared Pratincoles.

At the entrance to the Alykes wetland I found a Spur-winged Plover, and there were several Yellow Wagtails. At the mouth of the channel two Little Terns flew north along the coast.
